Impeach the president and vice president
City and town councils across America have drafted resolutions calling on their representatives to ask for impeachment inquiries against president Bush and vice president Cheney.
We believe that our own Woonsocket city council and all other cities and towns in Rhode Island should do the same.
President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq with no proof that the United States faced any danger from that country. He obtained a war resolution from congress based on distortions and lies costing the lives of thousands of Americans and Iraqis. We believe this invasion meets the definition of a war crime.
This is not only a violation of our constitution, but a violation of America’s collective soul.
It has transformed the United States from a free and compass ionate society, determined to defend its own way of life while respecting the way of life of other cultures, into an empire.
This president has routinely condoned invading the privacy of our citizens without probable cause or warrants required to conduct surveillance.
His administration allowed the compensation of TV and print journalists to promote policies and programs of the administration. ( unconstitutional and un-American)
Vice President Cheney has supported and promoted Bush in all of these illegal and immoral activities. There are many more questionable and quite possibly illegal activities that this administration has ordered or supported—including:
· Abusive interrogation techniques of foreign prisoners.
· Paying foreign journalists to print stories of success in Iraq that were fabrications.
· The outing of Valerie Plame, (CIA operative)
· Leaving our borders vulnerable to terrorists and coming close to putting us in even more peril with their support of Dubai Ports deal.
There are more examples of this administration’s incompetence and corruption, but alas, there isn’t enough room in these pages to expound on all of them!
Some of these are merely immoral while we believe many are illegal and impeachable offenses.
We now call on our own Woonsocket City Council, to acknowledge these realities as well as bodies in other cities and towns in Rhode Island and demand that impeachment proceedings begin now!

Oh, one OTHER thing...
While it may not be anywhere near the magnitude of a government that lies to our nation, this might make you think about local media "protection" of certain so called "high esteemed" individuals.
If you would like to see an example of selective publication from local "home town media," go to this page from the Durango Mango website and read about the 6 year Autumnfest Saga that you'll never hear about from the steering committee.
